Happy Friday, Fuquay. Memorial Day is behind us, the pools are open, and summer is officially no longer something we're looking forward to…it’s here now!

This weekend: Carolina hockey at McWally's tonight, a tropical beer release at Oaklyn Springs, live music both nights, and your first Saturday under June market hours.

THE SHORT LIST
Start Here: Your Weekend Lineup

If you only read one thing this week, make it this. The biggest stuff happening across town this week:

  • Live Music: Hired Guns Band at Mason Jar - Friday, 7PM. Free live music at Mason Jar to close out the week.

  • Game 5 Watch Party at McWally's - Friday, 8PM. Carolina needs to finish the job, and McWally's is the move if you want to watch with a crowd. More on that in a second.

  • Parrots and Sunglasses at Oaklyn Springs - Saturday, 1PM. Oaklyn is releasing a new light summer lager.

  • Fuquay-Varina Growers Market - Saturday, 8 AM-Noon. First weekend under June hours, which means it wraps up an hour earlier than spring.

PUCK DROP
🚨 Not headed to the Novo? McWally's has your back

Hurricanes Game 5 Watch Party | McWally's | Friday at 8:00PM

The Canes take on the Habs in Game 5 of the NHL Eastern Conference Finals, and McWally's has a proper watch party setup going:

  • $1 wings (minimum order of 6)

  • $1 off drafts

  • beer bucket specials

The wing deal starts an hour before puck drop, so plan accordingly. Worth a look at their site for the confirmed start time before you head out.

SATURDAY AFTERNOON

Oaklyn Springs Brewery | Saturday at 1 PM

Oaklyn's newest lager is called Parrots and Sunglasses, and they're releasing it Saturday with a full afternoon built around it. Food truck from 1 PM, Island Time Band playing reggae from 3 to 6. Wear something tropical if you've got it.

SATURDAY NIGHT
🎸Dirt Road after dark

Live Music: Dirt Road Junction @ Mason Jar Lager Co. | Saturday, 6:30 PM - 9:30 PM

Dirt Road Junction plays Mason Jar Saturday night, and it's free. If your afternoon ends at Oaklyn for the beer release, this is a natural next stop downtown. If you're starting your night later, it's an easy one to walk into.

MIDWEEK MOVES
📀 🎶 Bring your own vinyl to Track Record

Track Record Vinyl Shop | Thursday, June 4 | 6-9 PM

Bring in your own records and stop by Track Record for a smooth night. You can dig through what others bring, share what you've got, and generally have a better Thursday than you would have otherwise. One of the better low-key moves on the calendar this week.

THE REST
Honorable mentions for the week

  • Plant Bingo at Oaklyn Springs - Friday, 6:30 PM. Five bucks to play bingo where the prizes are actual plants. A quirky Friday option if you want something with a little more going on.

  • TST 2026 Soccer Tournament at WakeMed Soccer Park - Thursday through Monday. A big 7v7 regional tournament with a fan festival, food, and drinks out in Cary. A great time with family if you want to see celebrities and athletes compete on the pitch.

  • Holly Springs Farmers Market - Saturday, 8 AM-Noon. If you're up for a short drive, the Holly Springs market runs the same morning as Fuquay's. More vendors, similar vibe.

  • Coffee with a Cop at The Mill - Wednesday, June 3, 9-10 AM. Casual meet-and-greet with local officers at The Mill. A low-key community touchpoint if civic engagement is your thing before noon.

  • Super Sunday at Moonlight - Sunday, all day. All the weekly specials stacked into one day.
