Happy Friday, Fuquay. We have a packed line-up to start the summer.

June is here, the Canes are fighting for the Cup, and downtown has a full weekend on its hands. This week: Run the Quay takes over Saturday morning, First Friday brings free line dancing and vendors to the streets Friday night, and we give you the full Hurricanes watch party schedule.

SATURDAY MORNING
🏃 Run the Quay owns downtown

Run the Quay 2026 sponsored by CDT Automotive | Downtown Fuquay-Varina | Saturday, June 6, 6:00 AM

The annual Run the Quay road race brings the 5K, 10K, and the 15 Quay Challenge (run all three back to back, if you're feeling ambitious) to downtown Saturday morning. If you missed registration, heads up — only the Children's Twinkle Dash still has spots open. Worth knowing if you weren't planning to race: downtown will be busier than a normal Saturday morning, so plan your route accordingly.

FRIDAY NIGHT

The Fuquay-Varina Downtown Association's First Friday runs all evening, with 8CountCountry leading free line dancing lessons and local art and food vendors filling out the rest. If you're downtown for dinner anyway, this is an easy extension of the night. If you're looking for a low-cost Friday with something actually going on, this is the pick.

THE REST
Honorable mentions for the week

  • Motown night at Track Record - Saturday, 6PM-9PM: Spinning a variety of Motown artists throughout the night.

  • Well Wednesdays at McWally's: $2 off all well drinks if your Wednesday needs a reason.

  • Fuquay-Varina Growers Market - Saturday, 8AM-Noon: Running on June hours now, so it wraps at noon.

  • Mug Mondays at Oaklyn Springs (OSB) - Monday, 4PM: Self-described as the best deal in the Triangle.
